Science Service for Biodiversity

Welcome to the EU Science Service for Biodiversity. We connect science, policy and society to make better decisions for nature.

The Science Service for Biodiversity is the scientific pillar of the Knowledge Centre for Biodiversity. We ensure that policy-makers across Europe have timely, reliable access to the best scientific knowledge on how to achieve the ecological transition required by the European Green Deal and the EU Biodiversity Strategy for 2030.

To create lasting change, biodiversity must be embedded in public policy and business decisions at every level. Our mission is to make that integration possible through collaboration, evidence and shared knowledge.

The Science Service for Biodiversity is in development and the full platform is launching in 2026. It is being developed by BioAgora: a 5-year project funded by the Horizon Europe programme, involving 22 partners at the cutting edge of science, policy and technology.
